If untreated, high blood pressure may cause damage to the vessels and arteries of your major organs -the heart, the brain, the kidneys, and the eyes. The treatment to reach optimal blood pressure includes lifestyle modifications as well as use of antihypertensive medications. In all major hypertension clinical trials patients have needed at least two or more antihypertensive medications to reach treatment goal.
